Homeschooler Spotlight

This month we checked in with Fort Lee Homeschoolers. This group of military homeschoolers completed a community service project supporting local law enforcement. They made cookies, banners, and cards to show their appreciation and delivered them to their local police station. Many of the police officers had previously served in the military as well. Great idea Fort Lee Homeschoolers!

Jason is a 14-year-old homeschooler who loves nature and his family. His homeschooling lessons are currently focused on natural science and physical activity. This month Jason went on a field trip to the Franklin State Mountains with his dad who recently arrived home from a nine-month deployment. They had so much fun hiking while talking about the local ecosystem, wild animals, the weather - and just being together again. Thanks for sharing Jason!

November is all about being thankful. What are you thankful for?

Betsy is eight years old and is thankful for gardening! Her homeschooling group has been learning about seeds, compost, and worms in science class this semester. The class has sparked such an interest in gardening, her family is sure she will be growing things for the rest of her life. Great job Betsy!
